Emanuel Salvador

 

 


Concertmaster of the Baltic Neopolis Orchestra.

Emanuel Salvador was described by The Strad Magazine as “one of the best Portuguese violinists of his generation.” He has performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and concertmaster on many world stages, including in the United Kingdom, Kazakhstan, China, Japan, Portugal, the Netherlands, Mexico, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Estonia, the USA, and Germany. He is a winner and laureate of competitions such as Isolde Menges (RCM), Beckenham Festival, Barbirolli Memorial, Wolfson Foundation, Jovens Músicos, and Julio Cardona.

In 2005 he graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal College of Music in London. As a soloist and concertmaster, he has performed with orchestras such as the Orquesta Nacional de España, Brasil National Orchestra, Seoul Classical Players, Adana Philharmonic, Monterrey Symphony Orchestra, Krasnoyarsk Symphony, Orquestra do Norte, Clássica da Madeira, Częstochowa Philharmonic, Łomża Philharmonic, and Białystok Philharmonic.

He is the founder and leader of the Guimarães String Quartet in Portugal, with which he regularly performs in Europe and Asia. From 2005 to 2015 he was concertmaster of Orquestra do Norte in Portugal. Since 2015 he has been the artistic director and first concertmaster of the Baltic Neopolis Orchestra.

With this ensemble he has gained wide recognition from both audiences and critics, performing in concert halls across Europe and Asia, in countries such as Germany, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Estonia, Norway, Malta, Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Croatia, Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia, Russia, Korea, India, and China.

His achievements include critically acclaimed recordings, solo concerts with more than 40 orchestras, and masterclasses worldwide. Emanuel has undertaken numerous concert tours in Southeast Asia, China, Japan, and the United States. Since 2019 he has also been the artistic director of the Guimarães Clássico International Festivals in Portugal, Szczecin Classic in Poland, and since 2023 a new concert series on the Polish-German border entitled Music Powerania.
